A Long-Term Environmental Project on the Home Stretch
The remediation of the Silbergrube in Freiburg is a significant undertaking that addresses a multifaceted environmental pollution caused by volatile chlorinated hydrocarbons (LCKW) in groundwater and soil.
Originally a gravel pit, this site was heavily contaminated due to the previous discharge of wastewater from animal rendering. Since 2003, we have been working together with the city of Freiburg to conduct a comprehensive exploration and remediation of the area.
We are pleased to be able to contribute to this pioneering project and to support the city of Freiburg with our expertise and experience. Through continuous support in phased steps, we ensure the cost-effective success of the remediation.
The methods employed and the scientific exchange with universities and research institutions strengthen the project and promote the development of new environmentally friendly technologies. The Silbergrube project demonstrates how combinations of technology and science can contribute to the preservation and healing of our environment.
